Former Members: Anna Usacheva

Anna Usacheva was a postdoctoral researcher within the EX-PATRIA Project (2023-2025), where her work focused on educational and ecclesiastical networks linking Roman Osrhoene and Sasanian Armenia in the first half of the fifth century.

Anna’ss expertise lies in the intellectual and institutional history of Late Antiquity, with a particular emphasis on Christian literature, philosophical traditions, and the transmission of knowledge.

Her contribution to the project included the creation of a prosopographical dataset on these actors, enhancing EX-PATRIA’s broader knowledge base on religiously motivated mobility.

Anna Usacheva is currently Principal Investigator of the ROMAGE project (Ageing and Old Age in the 4th to 6th Century Roman Empire: Religious, Legal, Social and Physical Dimensions), funded by an SNSF Consolidator Grant. She is conducting this five-year research project at the Institute of Historical Theology, University of Bern.
